# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It takes ten minutes to throw together and then does all the work while you clean the house or watch the game.
  • The sweet apricot jam balances the tangy barbecue sauce in a way that keeps people coming back for just one more.
  • You can keep it warm for hours in the slow cooker, so latecomers still get hot, flavorful bites.
02 -
  • Do not skip stirring halfway through, the sausages on top can dry out if they sit above the sauce line for too long.
  • If your sauce looks too thick after an hour, add a tablespoon or two of water and stir it in to loosen things up.
03 -
  • Use a liner in your slow cooker for the easiest cleanup, the sticky sauce comes right out with no scrubbing.
  • If you are doubling the recipe for a big crowd, use a larger slow cooker and add an extra half hour to the cooking time to make sure everything heats evenly.
